MAXI MILL^® LOG CHARGING SYSTEMS

To present a log to the Maxi Mill^® overhead carriage the Maxi Mill^® charging system lifts and carries the log through the scanning system. The control system, using a combination of photo electric devices, transducer position feedback, precise mechanical movement, and advanced mathematical algorithms, determines the logs precise shape and size by measuring length, diameter, sweep, and crook. Unlike competitor's sharp chains or conventional carriage systems this scanning takes place prior to log positioning on the carriage or chain. This allows the Maxi Mill^® system to position the log to achieve Maximum Lumber Yield prior to dogging by the Maxi Mill^® overhead carriage.
